KMUH Wins Dual 2024 "Work-Life Balance Awards" from the Ministry of Labor, Taiwan
Healthy Employees, Family-Friendly Environment, Happy KMUH
Amid the increasingly challenging healthcare landscape, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMUH) not only continues to elevate the quality of its medical services but also invests significant effort in employee care. To encourage childbirth and address Taiwan’s declining birth rates, the government has rolled out the "0-to-6 National Childcare Support" 2.0 policy. In response to the government’s "Countermeasures Against Low Birth Rates" initiative, KMUH, with the backing of its board of directors, has introduced an enhanced "0-to-6 National & KMUH Childcare Support" program. This安心育兒留才計畫 (Parenting with Peace of Mind Talent Retention Plan) goes beyond the national framework. Additionally, female employees undergoing assisted reproductive treatments can apply for special leave, reflecting KMUH’s commitment to supporting staff in raising families with confidence. These thoughtful policies aim to foster a happier workplace, retain top talent, and contribute to national efforts to combat low birth rates and promote family-friendly policies.
KMUH has proudly secured dual honors at the 2024 "Work-Life Balance Award" from the Ministry of Labor Taiwan, winning both the "Family-Friendly Award" and the "Employee Care Award"—making it the only medical institution in Taiwan to achieve this distinction! By caring for employees in warm, humane, and diverse ways, KMUH exemplifies its "people-centered" philosophy. Furthermore, it has been recognized with the "Health Management Award" by the Health Promotion Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for its exemplary workplace wellness efforts. These achievements highlight KMUH as a new model of a "Healthy Employees, Happy KMUH" workplace.
