2022.11.18 KMUH Passes JCI International Accreditation for the Third Time

The COVID-19 pandemic continues, but Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital remains undeterred by its challenges. Upholding the principle of "always improving healthcare quality," the hospital pursued its third accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most prestigious and rigorous evaluation body worldwide.
Facing the 7th edition standards and an entirely virtual evaluation for the first time in Taiwan, the hospital’s staff had to demonstrate exceptional adaptability. Surveyors from five different countries conducted a thorough virtual inspection of the hospital, rigorously auditing each department and performing random visits, providing numerous tips and suggestions for further improvement.
In the summary meeting, the surveyors praised the hospital’s continuous pursuit of high-quality patient care and medical excellence, noting significant progress over the past three years. Under the leadership of Superintendent Inn-Wen Chong, the entire team successfully met the challenge, becoming the first medical center in Taiwan to pass the latest 7th edition and fully virtual JCI accreditation.
This achievement is not only an honor for the hospital but also a reassuring guarantee of health protection for the public.
