Kaohsiung Medical University¡¦s 70th Anniversary Road Running and Relay Race Draws 2,000 Participants
"Confidence Grows in Stormy Weather, Run for Health!"

¡@¡@Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) celebrated its 70th anniversary with a grand health and sustainability road running and the 2nd Taiwan Medical Center Relay Race on October 13, 2024. Over 2,000 participants joined this vibrant event, including KMU faculty, staff, students, alumni, and representatives from 19 hospitals across Taiwan.

¡@¡@The relay race featured 45 teams composed of hospital superintendents, vice superintendents, and medical staff. Distinguished guests included Director Tsun-YaoHouof the Kaohsiung City Sports Development Bureau, Chairman Chien-Zie Chenof the KMU Board of Trustees, President Ming-Lung Yu of KMU, President Chih-Peng Li of National Sun Yat-sen University, and the superintendentsof several hospitals such as SuperintendentJaw-Yuan Wangof KMU Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Superintendent Chih-Chi Wang of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, SuperintendentJin-ShuenChen of Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital,Superintendent ofChao-Ming Hung E-Da Cancer Hospital, SuperintendentHsuan-Ti Huang of KMU Gangshan Hospital,SuperintendentChih-Hsing Hung of Kaohsiung MunicipalSiaogang Hospital,SuperintendentChao-Hung Kuo of Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital, Superintendent Yi-Chun Tsai of Kaohsiung MunicipalCiJin Hospital. Representatives from various medical associations also attended, making the event lively and prestigious.

¡@¡@The event featured various health education booths promoting patient safety, fitness testing, and osteoporosis prevention. Organized by KMU and its affiliated hospital, the event included three categories: a 3km walking group, a 10km challenge group, and the Medical Center Relay Race. Hospitals from across Taiwan sent teams of enthusiastic medical and administrative staff to compete in the relay, showcasing teamwork and dedication to health.

¡@¡@The route took participants around the scenic Love River in Kaohsiung, turning the run into a delightful city tour on foot. During the event, it was announced that future relay races will be hosted by Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital in 2025, E-Da Hospital in 2026, and Taichung Veterans General Hospital in 2027, ensuring the tradition of this exciting health-focused event continues.
