The Department of Radiation Oncology of Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital was established since 1977. We have eight radiation oncologists. Other members in the department include: registered nurses, radiation therapists, medical dosimetrists and medical physicists. Our department has equipped with the most sophisticated technology in modern radiotherapy. We incorporate MR-Linac, Tomotherapy and VMAT radiotherapy in daily radiation treatment. We have 4 LINAC treatment equipments, including:

1. MR-Linac.

2. ELEKTA Synergy,include Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy and image guided radiotherapy system

3. TomoTherapy Hi-Art system

4. ELEKTA Axesse,,include Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy 、 image guided radiotherapy、 stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy system

And we have other supplementary devices like Active breathing coordinator system、BodyFix immobilization device and Abdominal compression system. The Brachytherapy system is microSelectron-HDR (High dose rate brachytherapy) Ir-192 source. The simulation system includes Brilliance 16 Slice CT. The planning system includes Oncentra brachytherapy planning system, Pinnacle planning system, Eclipse planning system, ERGO treatment planning system and TomoTherapy planning system

The Department of Radiation Oncology is of the highest quality and concentrates on unique and effective techniques to enhance patient care. We are always improving treatment methods to deliver premium patient care possible. Our strategies are to treat tumors aggressively, while reducing or eliminating most of the side effects in the treatment course.
