Division of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Our staffs

Our division was established by Professor Ching-Kuan Lu and Professor Hong-Rong Chen in 1963. Professor Nien-Te Yin from National Defense Medical College started to give lecture here on maxillofacial surgery since 1971. Dr Sheng-Tsung Lai came back to alma mater as a resident and teaching assistant. The first chief is Professor Hong-Rong Chen who was succeeded by former chief Associate Professor Sheng-Tsung Lai and Professor Chung-Ho Chen. Our current staffs are Chief Professor Chun-Ming Chen, Professor Chung-Ho Chen, Associate Professor Edward Chengchuan Ko, Assistant Professor Han-Jen Hsu,  Dr Yu-Hsun Kao, Assistant professor Yu-Feng Chen,  Dr Chang-Wei Su.

 

Our Specialty

Our service including surgical management of disorders and diseases of oral-maxillofacial regions, with specific clinic service of orthognathic surgery for dentofacial deformities, oral tumor resection, maxillofacial trauma, dental implant surgery and associated bone augmentation, salivary gland disease, cleft lip and palate, myofascial pain disorder syndrome and other minor oral surgeries.

Moreover, we are cultivating the future generation of the oral and maxillofacial surgeons who will be able to manage the disease and also be able to do the advanced study and participate the foreign affairs.

 

Perspectives

We are going to focus on the oral cancer genome study and implant study. Multidiscipline cooperation and multicenter study would be included within our next project.
