The division of gastroenterology was founded on Feb 16, 1967. The aim is to provide professional service in gastrointestinal system, including screening, therapy and nutrition support. We equip with many kinds of video fibroendoscopes for examinations, including gastroduodenoscopy, small intestine endoscopy and colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasonography. We continuously introduce new equipment and technique to extend our services, including narrow band imaging system for detection of early stage cancer or precancer lesion; capsule endoscopy for detection of small intestine lesion; endoscopic ulcrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration; endoscopic mucosal resection or submucosal dissection for excision of early stage cancer or precancer lesion; esophageal stent or colonic stent, for temporary relief of obstructive symptoms; percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, providing an alternative route of feeding and preventing the complication of long-term nasogastric tube placement; and last but not the least, esophageal thermal ablation, for treatment of early stage esophageal cancer.
