The Division of General Internal Medicine was established within Department of Internal Medicine in 2004, and has gained national excellent award as a Center for General Internal Medicine Research and Training in 2007. The division’s clinical activities focus on delivering high quality and comprehensive care for management of chronic diseases, and the treatment of hospitalized patients. Education is the critical focus for our faculty, whether they are supervising medical students and residents in the patient clinics, or using their teaching skills to improve patient care. The division is extensively involved in continuous quality improvement efforts, and it provides up-to-date evidence-based care for diverse patient populations. Physicians in the division play a leading role in educating the doctors of tomorrow as well as providing comprehensive medical care for the adults today.
