The psychiatric service of Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital was first established in 1960 as a subdivision of the department of internal medicine. In 1971, the department of Neuro-psychiatry became an independent unit, and started psychiatric inpatient service in 1981. Through the following years, various psychiatric services had been added to our department.
Currently, we offered the following services:
1. Psychiatric outpatient department: including child and geriatric psychiatric service
2. Psychiatric inpatient ward (acute ward)
3. Psychiatric day ward
4. Community rehabilitation center
5. Methadone maintenance therapy
6. Home care service
7. Autonomic nervous system function testing(Self-paid)
8. Psychotherapy: individual and group therapy
9. Social worker consultation and family therapy
10. Occupational evaluation
