I. Summer Internship Department Introduction
The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 2003. Currently, we have 4 divisions: (1) Division of Chinese Internal Medicine, (2) Division of Gynecology and Pediatrics, (3) Division of Traumatology, and (4) Division of Acupuncture. In our department, all the doctors are well versed in both Traditional Chinese and Western medicine. The diagnostic method is based on theories of traditional Chinese medicine. The treatments offered by our clinic include herbal medicines, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and massage. The majority of cases received by our department include allergic rhinititis, insomnia, migraine, gastrointestinal diseases, cancers, stroke, dislocation of the bone, sport injury, infertility, endometriosis, menopausal syndromes, and so on. We uphold the highest standards of reliability in all our services, and we have an impeccable reputation of trustworthy among our patients. At the moment, our department consists of 5 attending physician and 6 residents, 6 interns.
II. Summer Internship Learning Objective and Training Program Outline
The clinical training is mainly conducted in our outpatient clinics. The training program of Internal Medicine is designed to teach the students how to make diagnosis and provide treatment based on the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the knowledge of herbal medicines. The training program of Gynecology is designed to teach the students about the method of diagnosis and treatment for the diseases of menstruation, leucorrhea, pregnancy, parturition, and others based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. The training program of Acupuncture is designed to teach students the theory of acupuncture and the identification of acupoints on the body. Additionally, we teach the students how to use moxibustion and cupping to relieve pain. The training program of Traumatology is designed to teach students how to relief muscle pain and bone displacement by massage and bone-setting manipulation.

1.Basic Theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine
2.Basic Knowledge and the science of channels and collaterals |
Lecture will be given by the Attending Physicians of T.C.M. department in small group teaching. The lecture will cover the basic theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Science of Acupuncture. Each course will last about an hour. |

Practical Operation Stage |

Clinical Demonstration of Acupuncture. |
The Attending physician will guide the students to perform basic acupuncture in clinical setting. Allowing the students to gain the experience of acupuncture firsthand and discover the main and collateral channels phenomenon. |

-Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Basic Theories -TCM Herbs and Formula -Principles of Acupuncture -Meridians and Acupoints
2nd month:
