Internship Department Introduction

IT office was established in September 1983, to co-ordinate the promotion of hospital computerized business, design and maintenance of related software and hardware. IT office recruited 4 programmers and procured a system host (now eliminated). The clinic, registration system formally launched in December 1986, rendered the full support of hospital. The hospital began the computerization. Afterwards, IT office completed the the use of software and enhance the stability of healthcare information infrastructure based on hospital’s policy.

In order to unified the medical care information system, IT office expanded the developers’ unit of application system as outpatient systems development group, hospital systems development group, medical support team, operating and administrative group, and technical support group to integrate the application system developers’ human resources. IT office temporarily transfer 10 programmers from Kaohsiung Municipal Hsiao-Kang Hospital in April 2011, and 3 programmers from Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital to proceed the integration of developing human resources. 
Kaohsiung Municipal Hsiao-Kang Hospital has completed the integration of information system in August 2011, and Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital also completed in January 2012 successively.
Hospital launched a new generation of IPD on the line in October 2011, that will be united committed to accelerating the pace of information technology, and carry out the medical information technology of the hospital, to make the hospital more efficient of overall operation, thereby to increase the service quality, core values and competitiveness of health care system, and increase operational benefits of hospital.

Internship Learning Objective and Training Program Outline

Research on how to utilize new IT technology and tools (such as, mobile system, mobile devices, Big Data, HTML5, etc.) improve the efficiency of the medical workflow, to enhance patients’ safety, or to improve the doctoral-patient relationship.

2. Assist to design, programming, testing and debugging tasks
