I. Summer Internship Department Introduction
The department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers a full spectrum of women’s health services. Currently, we have four major divisions that include Oncology, Obstetrics, Reproductive Medicine and Urogynecology. The Gynecologic Oncology Service has a hospital-wide oncologist team to provide women with cancer with oncology care. We are experienced in several kinds of mini-invasive operations that include laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, and surgeries on urogynecologic disorders and pelvic organ prolapse. In Obstetrics, we also have expertise in a wide variety of complex and high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, including transcatheter uterine arterial embolization for postpartum hemorrhage. In reproductive medicine, we have the state-of-the art assisted reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization, micromanipulation and embryo preservation, etc.

II. Summer InternshipLearning Objective and Training Program Outline
The Summer Internship Program at Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of KMUH provides students with the opportunity to participate in patient care, clinical rounds, academic meetings, examinations, and surgical procedures. The 4-week program (40 hours per week) will be divided into 4 disciplines (oncology, urogynecology, reproductive medicine and obstetrics), each under the guidance of a senior faculty. The trainee should select 1 case per week during the rotation and present the case from disease presentation, diagnosis and treatment both in person and on paper. At the end of the program, the trainee will be familiar with a variety of Ob/GYN conditions and also gain insights of the work reality of an Ob/GYN doctor in Taiwan.
